Kick-off your holiday family fun with the world-class Circus Vazquez, now in full effect at Citi Field Queens through December 15th. Envision a bedazzled, high-level troupe of acrobats, dancers and aerialists performing center stage amidst an 8-piece live orchestra and full-throttle floor-to-ceiling light spectacular. I brought my eight year old son and he was all edge-of your seat anticipation and shouts, waving his light saber like a die-hard enthusiast, saying “I never want it to end!”
Not only is the circus animal and hence cruelty-free, the impressive cast of performing artists deliver with their breathtaking, gravity defying stunts. Like shooting stars, performers elegantly soar through the dark high-ceiled arena when not cracking up the audience with funny jokes courtesy of Boris, the edgy neo-clown. A world-class circus experience in the heart of Queens, I can’t think of a more boredom-defying evening out for children and adults of all ages.
Highlights include the Bingo Troupe, a world-renowned team of circus and variety artists from Kiev, Ukraine with over 27 years of experience in the industry. And watch out for the The Bone Breakers! Hailing from Guinea, Africa, this exceptional male contortionist trio delivers a jaw-dropping spectacle like no other with their unmatched rhythm, strength and flexibility.
Colombian daredevils Ricardo and Alejandro defy gravity on a rotating contraption reaching 30 feet high called the Wheel of Wonder. Not to mention gymnastic angels like Olympic gold medalist Natalia Kapitonova.
This show ain’t just for kids!! With so much muscle-powered bravado and quirky moments of audience participation, Circus Vazquez is a must-see for the whole family. Graced with daring and adrenaline, these multitalented circus performers make you feel like you’re up on stage doing the moves with them – that is – if you’re not literally called up on stage by the obnoxious circus clown. Circus Vazquez tickets are on sale now for shows through December 15th. Tickets times are available Monday-Friday at 7 PM and Saturday-Sunday at 1 PM, 4 PM & 7 PM.
