This past NYFW grabbed the viewership of audiences with the latest creative minds designing what will be the next “It-factor”. Beauty News NYC got front row seats to emerging designer showcases and esteemed fashion veterans to bring you the latest from these city streets. Here are the showcased streetwear styles from ready-to-wear and couture.
Beilharz
Australian fashion designer Beilharz revealed their new collection “Delusions of Grandeur” on the Sony Hall stage at Runway 7. His latest work featured original prints on dresses, matching sets, and hoodies with cut-outs. Several pieces contained the prints within custom hand-made resin. The designer also boldly made a statement with a model walking out with the Palestinian flag and a shirt with the back saying “Free Palestine”.

Joseph Mcrae

Joseph Mcrae showcased his latest collection for SFW Runway featuring exquisite oversized, puffer jackets and a mix of subtle tribal patterning and textures. Designs included belted dresses, metallic skirts, and rustic textiles. In classic Mcrae fashion, all looks were striking and non conforming, creating an androgynous, non-binary high fashion protocol for others to follow.

Timothy Nashh

Streetwear couture designer, Timothy Nash, showcased his latest collection titled “Surrender”. The collection encapsulates the theme of light and dark and reflects on the journey between the individual and following a larger path. The initial set carried designs with dark denim and black clothes followed by dark clothes incorporating threads of silver. The show closed with designs entirely composed of silver, providing an elegant contrast and thorough story telling.

LOMEIN

Founded by Brac Matthews & Simon Busano, LOMEIN, the brand for underdogs, just released their latest kids streetwear collection. Debuted in their new youth campaign “Future Dogs – Our Tomorrow”, the collection featured their classic minimal logo and dog motif was applied to children’s matching sweats in rhinestone and patchwork style detailing. The new collection is designed to extend the LOMEIN ethos by empowering children with confidence, creativity, and self-expression.
Rhyan and Rhyse
Sustainable couture brand, Rhyan and Rhyse showcased their latest collection for Runway 7. Amongst their collared shirts and culottes were satin finish matching tops and bottoms, mesh jersey with bold graphics, and organic displays of denim. Looks also displayed graphics with hand drawn images by Okonma.
Odyssey Jack
Fashion brand Odyssey Jack came ready to the runway at Runway 7 with select streetwear styles. Odyssey Jack seeks to represent the journey of the artist in their creations. Classic rugged streetwear attire such as hoodies and jeans were elevated with elongated sleeves, systematic ripped components and dynamic prints.
Designed X Peace
Mission driven fashion brand Designed X Peace showcased their latest collection at the Sony Hall stage at Runway 7. The collection featured a cool layering system with leather fabrics and outerwear. A particular standout look was a camo print puffer jacket and over a leather loose fit pants.
Village of Thousands
Sustainable skater streetwear brand Village of Thousands turned up for their first runway show at Runway 7. Their new collection focused on cozy favorites such as oversized t-shirts and sweatsuit sets. Each look had a unique Village of Thousands print in the front.
Skut
Miami based conscious streetwear brand Skut showcased their elevated streetwear looks in their latest collection this past fall. The collection featured their brand logo on edgy military inspired fits with long army green trench coats and vests. The collection also used spray paint graphics on low rise jeans and featured the Skut branding on basketball shorts.
