BN Los Angeles: Creative Arts Workshops Presented By Soolip

RUN, DON’T WALK! I promise you will not regret giving yourself this gift.

I’ve always associated Wanda Wen with Soolip – flawless stationery (or naturally flawed with preservation in mind), perfect letterpress, and an inviting studio where everything is crisp with history and personalization. And she is those things – but I’ve recently had the pleasure of learning she’s also a yogi, effortless hostess, naturally (and enviably!) connective, poised with the gift of presence, and advocate of the artist within us all.

I tell you this because Wanda is currently hosting a Creative Arts Workshop series in The Greenhouse (don’t get me started on this space!) at Four Seasons Westlake Village. I made cards and gift tags for 2+ hours alongside 10 other women who all wanted to be exactly where we were. It was pure joy. Yes, I’m always down to play with glue and ribbon, but this entailed an 8 am departure on a Saturday. It could have gone multiple ways.

We cut, we glued, we told our stories, and a few even unearthed their inner artists for the first time. There was no competition or attitudes, just women chatting, and expressing their truths through twigs and paper. Best part: nothing was wrong or right. At this sensitive time in our nation, when you can’t turn a corner without hearing someone’s extreme opinion, this greenhouse felt like a reward.

After class, we took our new boxes of stationery and relaxed poolside amid the sun, music, and palm trees of Four Seasons’ splendor.

Do it. Treat yourself to a deserved day away from the noise. There is a different class each weekend through early December – but space is limited! Grab a friend and sign up for self-expression and creativity with a lovely side of sunshine.
