6 Swoonworthy Signature Scents

While it’s so much fun to have a large perfume library, it can be grounding to have that one signature scent that never fails you. While your signature can be anything you’d like it to be, here are 6 suggestions that are not only stunning, but also totally appropriate for everyday, year-round wear.

Art Nouveau by Plume Impression is a sparklingly gorgeous blend of white flowers and creamy woods, rendering it absolutely perfect for any time of year. It’s one of those rare fragrances that was an immediate keeper for me (love at first sniff, some might say). Characterized as a floral fruity scent, it has notes of osmanthus, peony, champagne, rose, jasmine, patchouli, white musk, and more. If you’re a lover of softly feminine scents like Miss Dior’s Blooming Bouquet, you will adore this just as I do.

Bond No. 9 is known for its rather funky, iconic bottles – and Greenwich Village is no exception. One of the brand’s bestsellers, this fragrance captures one of New York City’s most beloved neighborhoods. Dubbed an oriental vanilla by the brand, I find this to be a beautiful, creamy floral. Lychee, peony, waterlily, ambrox, praline, vanilla and more swirl together to create something unique and compliment-worthy. I will tell you now – any hype you’ve heard about this one is true.

If you want something a little different, but still understated and elegant, try Je Ne Sais Quoi by Teo Cabanel, a matcha tea and puffed rice scent you’ve definitely never smelled before. Mate, violet leaf, guaiac wood, sandalwood, and other notes complement the two stars of the show, creating a striking scent that will invite people to ask, “What is that divine smell?” Addictive and a little sensual, it is one of those scents that feels like a second skin.

If you’re a romantic at heart, look no further than Prada Paradoxe Intense, an intensely feminine fragrance that leans heavily into gorgeous jasmine blooms. A woody note of moss accord elevates this floral amber, adding some allure to an otherwise elegant perfume. Sweet yet earthy, this unexpected marriage of scents is an amazing day-to-night option.

This list would not be complete without a vanilla-based fragrance–after all, who doesn’t love that warm, comforting, universally-adored aroma? My pick is Vanilla Freesia by Korres, an eau de toilette that pairs lighter notes of bergamot, tea, jasmine and peach with sensual vanilla, patchouli, and musk. This one has a similar vibe to the famous Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf, but it’s more focused on that airy vanilla note. It’s easy to like, and would make an excellent gift.

This last one is a bit of a wildcard, but it’s so good I had to include it. Sugar Leather by Une Nuit Nomade is an exquisitely deep caramelized leather fragrance that is at once comforting and enticing. Cinnamon, amyris, and labdanum complement the other notes, resulting in a decadently warm scent that the people around you will remember. This indulgent option may be delicious, but it’s not overly so – you can certainly wear it year-round. Imagine being known as the person who smells like an expensive cinnamon bun – goals, truly.
