Dr.Jart+ Vital Hydra Solution franchise just got a boost… adding a lip mask to the lineup. The mask can be slept in or swiped on your pout during the day. It’s housed in the CUTEST cobalt blue teddy bear jar and adds plumpness and shine. If you are a sucker for a product that works and that is housed in the cutest vessel, this is ALL you!! I caught an early Fall cold and my lips and the tip of my nose were dry, chapped, and swollen from blowing my nose. Lovely, I know. THAT SAID, I swiped a layer of this balm on my lips to soothe and soften them. I smeared the excess on the parched area of my sniffer and my skin was calmed and relaxed.
Reflekt Restorative Lip Balm is a luxurious lip treatment. It’s part balm, part gloss, part mask, all sumptuous hydration. It’s a cocktail of açaí oil, shea butter, and hyaluronic acid. Your lips are supple and silky with one or two swipes of the metal applicator. It also boasts “The Reflekt Complex,” which is a proprietary blend of fruit enzymes. You end up with moisture and exfoliation, and improved moisture. It’s clean and vegan, too. So we back it. I know there are hundreds of lip balm x mask x gloss hybrids on the market. But this one is worth your swipes.
If you are ISO the EASIEST EYESHADOW EVER, well, we’ve got it. Only it’s not a proper eyeshadow as you know it. CLE Cosmetics Melting Lip Powder performs double duty. It can be effortlessly swiped onto lids (and cheeks and lips) with the wand for a buffed and blurred, diffused look. It adds that much-desired, light wash of color but you can always up the ante by adding a few layers for a richer, deeper tint. If you are all about a monochromatic makeup look this fall, you can swipe on lips and cheeks, too. You can play with depth and dimension by dabbing double the layers on lids and lips, but softer and more flushed on cheeks. Or you can go bold as a blush, and then vary how diffused you go on lips and lids. It’s a three-in-one product that can yield innumerable results and looks. You definitely get your money’s worth.
Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT be intimated by the Basma Beauty’s Pink Yet Coral cream blush. It is SHOCKINGLY hot pink in the pan, but it blends out to a soft pink, yet coral flush only our cheeks. If your skin tone is darker and richer, well, this baby will show up on your skin, as well. The shade was named by the one and only diva herself — Miss Mariah Carey. You can dab on cheekbones and buff it out with your fingers or use your favorite fluffy blush brush to achieve the desired effect. One-and-a-half coats was bright on my fair skin, so 3-4 coats will add a gorgeous glow to all you deeper toned beauties!
We all love makeup that doesn’t move or migrate… while we’re awake, socializing, posting selfies, and generally bipedal. But what about when it’s time to go to bed? Sleeping with your makeup on is no bueno and smudged mascara or eyeliner on your pillow case is also a no and a no. That’s why I absolutely LOVE Oak Essentials Nourishing Cleansing Milk — it removes the most stubborn waterproof makeup as it pampers your skin. That’s the kind of dual action I am looking for in my life. Removing long-wear makeup can be a harsh task, but not with this dreamy and creamy formulation. Say sayonara to dirt, makeup, and other environmental factors. The rich, milky texture feels so luxurious and will soothe and soften skin. It’s like washing your face with moisturizer.
Avocados are delicious. They are good for you. They are a superfood. They are also used in skincare. Ere Perez Avocado Waterproof Mascara is vegan, waterproof, and now comes in a sumptuous brown hue. Now, I live and die by black eyeliner and mascara, but I’ve started experimenting with brown liner on my waterline. I still get the smoky, sooty effect I like, but with some softness. It’s still dark, but it’s just… softer. The avocado in the formula nourishes and lengthens lashes, while promoting growth. Because stubby lashes are a no go. Even if you are a devotee of black mascara — and face it, aren’t MOST of us exactly that? — swap it out with this and you will NOT be disappointed. Just check out that before and after pic! HELLLOOOO!!!
Viper, a stunning midnight black infused with chunky holographic glitter, is Zoya’s Color of the Month for October. But guess what? I’m christening it the Color of the Fall. It’s seriously that sexy. I only wear black, including for my pedi polish! However, I stick to a neutral base with black, raised polka dots on for my gel mani, because solid black shows chips too quickly, even with a baked, hard gel formula! I just feel “undone” with chipped black polish, even though so many of you can pull off the chipped, punk rock nail look with fashion forward, gloriously messy ease. However, Viper is going to be my go-to shade through the winter season. The sparkles cut through the rich mystery of the black and lets in some light. The formula is Big 10 Free, so you can feel good about using it, too. Add to that a wide brush that makes application easy and DIY if you can’t get to your local salon and nail tech for your biweekly mani.
