This June, Beauty News NYC covered Gina DeSantis Ceramics’ unique Palo Santo Collection. Now, we’re back to cover Gina DeSantis Ceramics‘ Luna Collection. I was lucky enough to receive two pieces from this collection to add to my kitchen cabinets, the Luna Mug as well as the Luna Pasta Bowls, and I was so pleasantly surprised with the quality and the design of the pieces.
About Gina DeSantis Ceramics

If you ask Gina DeSantis, she will tell you that she and her team (working out of an old automobile factory west of Cleveland, Ohio), value handmade homeware that is functional and attractive, yet made to last, and ideally be passed down as heirlooms. All products are designed and thrown by Gina herself, and you can see some of her work in places like Anthropologie and Uncommon Goods.
Luna Mug
There is something so undeniably cozy about a good mug. And now that the weather in New York City is getting colder, I find myself always craving a soothing mug of tea or hot chocolate. My fiancé, Martin, drinks multiple mugs of coffee a day, regardless of the weather. But he has gravitated to no drinking vessel the way he has to the Luna Mug. The mug is sized perfectly to Martin’s liking, allowing him to drink more coffee per cup. Additionally, the mug fits in his hands far more comfortably than other of the mugs we own. It goes without saying at this point that Martin has claimed this mug as his, and I can’t blame him. And the look is so strikingly different than any other of our other kitchenware.

Luna Pasta Bowls
If the Luna Mug is Martin’s favorite, the Luna Pasta Bowls might just be mine. The shape, coloring, pattern, and texture of these bowls make me feel like I am slurping noodles out of dishwasher-safe art. I swear, I sometimes plan meals simply as an excuse to eat out of this bowl.
