My busy weekends of traveling around the country (see my visits to Alaska, Connecticut, and Virginia) have come to a gentle end with the beginning of fall. Now— my weekends consist of sipping hot teas, walks to the local burger cart with my boyfriend, and curling up with a cozy novel.
Before heading to my favorite chair with The Unboxing of a Black Girl by Angela Shanté and diving into the world of heartbreaking-yet-gorgeous poetry, I put on my weekend uniform. The uniform must be cute, comfortable, and easy to wear 24/7. This year’s outfit is from Pansy, a California based woman-owned brand, that creates bras, undies, and other clothing out of 100% organic cotton from the USA.
Starting with base layers: the French Cut undies and Smile Bra combo. These two items are so so so soft against my skin with the French Cut undies being breathable and cute with a high waist cut and full bottom coverage. The Smile Bra doesn’t have padding or wiring which is a major win in my eyes as I slip into the bra on the daily.
A T-shirt and legging duo is in order for my weekend uniform. Pansy’s T-shirt is buttery smooth and lays just right through a pierogi night with my roommates. I got mine in a medium to give a slightly roomy look and this shirt will easily be in my fall rotation.
A wardrobe staple, leggings, is made in the Pansy way: with no spandex, thick cotton, and little ribs to offer some give while doing living room yoga/meditation/naps. They can easily double as a base layer during freezing mornings this winter which is a major plus in my fashion book.
To top off my weekend uniform I must accessorize with Pansy socks. A classic tube sock that hits just right at my shins and gives a peek-a-boo effect when paired with high top sneakers. I got mine in Mermaid, a seafoam green, matching my undies and bra which is a bonus for that monochromic look this season.
For some eye candy I slip on my Neda glasses from TIJN to embody my inner BookTok persona. The glasses have a minimal design that is made from ultra-light 100% titanium which is featherlight on my face. Neda glasses are crafted in Japan which reminds me to pick up a manga and read while I snack on some Japanese snacks from my TokyoTreat’s box. I adore the gunmetal gold color which is subdued enough for everyday wear while still bringing a geek chic look. I will be wearing my Neda glasses all autumn long and will pick up some more TIJN glasses as stocking stuffers into the holiday season. Weekend comforts are complete with Pansy and TIJN this fall season for me and my autumnal afternoons spent with a good book!
